TARGET USERS
Exhibition contractors and on-site operators.
BUSINESS GOAL
To develop a fleet server and client portal that allows seamless control on on-site floor making as part of our company’s new leasing model.
RESEARCH ON MARKING PROCESS
I started to examine the existing user journey the current user journey from CAD preparation, equipment setup to job execution.

PROPOSED SOLUTION
I tried to break down the workflow in 5 deployment process: Dashboard, Map Edit, Preload, Calibration and Run Job. The new sitemap targeted to address the complexities of map production.
MULTIPLE ACCESS POINTS
- Map layer parsing – Map sync from cloud to fleet server
- Tips on equipment setup – Lionel and Guiding Station calibration
- Map legend – Mark View and Edit Practice
- Job execution – Path planning and data report

Based on the site map, I continued to apply the application’s functions to a suitable wireframe design.

VISUAL BRAND
I utilised the logo as a starting point and sought design inspirations from websites within the robotic industry. Robotic fonts and regular paths are two key elements that led to the design of the GUI.

The new generation of UI components is implemented across various functionalities on platforms.

TASKS FOR USABILITY TESTING
I conducted a moderated usability tests with 11 on-site operators via Maze.

Following the operator’s evaluation, it was recommended to include images to make it easier to find the right equipments.

An additional tour guide is added to assist with each step of the calibration process.

Another tip is recommended to be added to the map parsing process with a hover state.

The remaining frequently asked questions are grouped in an accordion design, allowing users to quickly filter and find solutions.

CLIENT FACING MATERIALS
The new design theme is also applied on user manuals for operation trainings.

Here is the final High-Fidelity Prototype of the Fleet Server and User Portal. We continued to improve our interface based on clients’ feedbacks.
